About APK Maker

APK Maker (apkmaker.dev) helps people who build for the web ship an Android app without learning Android development.

What APK Maker does

APK Maker turns web content into an installable Android app. You start from one of three things — a single HTML file, a ZIP of a website, or the URL of a website that is already online — choose an app name, icon and package name, and receive a signed APK file. Builds run in the cloud, so there is no Android Studio, SDK, Java, Kotlin or Gradle to install.

The two apps behind it

Building happens in two free Android apps on Google Play:

  • HTML & ZIP to APK Builder — packs an HTML file or a website ZIP inside the APK so it works offline.
  • Website to App — wraps a live website address in an app with your icon, splash screen and offline page.

What is free and what is not

Making a signed APK is free, with no watermark and no expiry. The free plan has a short cooldown between builds and a 5 MB limit on bundled files. Pro ($5 a month, billed through Google Play inside the app) adds AAB output for Google Play, your own signing key, splash screen, onboarding, a bottom tab bar, push notifications and an 18 MB bundle. See pricing.

What APK Maker does not do

  • It does not make iPhone (iOS) apps.
  • It does not convert native code projects (Flutter, React Native, Kotlin) — it packages web content.
  • It does not publish to Google Play for you; you upload the AAB in your own Play Console account.
