How to use it
- Write the default notes. Type your en-US notes, one change per line.
- Add languages. Pick each extra language from the list and write its notes.
- Check the counters. Keep every language at 500 characters or fewer.
- Paste into Play Console. Copy the output and paste it into the release notes box of your release.
The format Play Console expects
In a Play Console release, the "Release notes" box takes every language at once. Each language is wrapped in its BCP-47 tag, for example:
<en-US>
• New dark theme
• Bug fixes
</en-US>
<es-ES>
• Nuevo tema oscuro
</es-ES>
Each language is limited to 500 characters, and the language must also exist in your store listing. Plain text only — HTML and Markdown are not rendered.
Writing notes people read
- Lead with what users notice: features and fixes, not internal refactors.
- Three to five short bullets beat a paragraph.
- Keep "Bug fixes and performance improvements" for releases where that is genuinely all.
